How Our Review Process Works

Start with the kitchen plan you already have. Upload your plan and project details, and our design team handles the review. We evaluate function, fit, and everyday use, then return your plan with clear notes and recommendations. You can share the feedback with your original designer to make any updates before you order.

The five steps below walk you through the entire process.

Expert Review

An experienced kitchen designer looks at where appliances sit, how much counter space you have, and whether there’s enough room to use your kitchen comfortably, against the standards our founders built the company on. Every review then goes to a second reviewer, who checks the findings and the notes on your plan before it is released to you.

  • Dimensional accuracy and clearance verification
  • Functional layout analysis (work zones, traffic flow)
  • Appliance and fixture placement review

Your plan needs full dimensions to review. We check clearances, aisle widths and appliance fit against industry-standard kitchen planning guidelines, all of it measured — that means cabinet-by-cabinet sizes, not just overall wall lengths. A plan without that level of detail isn't enough for us to start from; if your reviewer finds it missing, we'll ask for the fuller version before beginning rather than send back a review that only checked half of what it should. See every measurement we check on a kitchen plan.

✗ Not acceptable

A black-and-white 3D perspective rendering of a kitchen design, showing cabinet layout and appliances with no dimensions or measurements.

A 3D perspective shows what the design might look like, not what anything measures. We can’t review from it.

A computer-generated floorplan rendering with decorative furniture icons and room-level dimensions, but no cabinet specifications

We’re seeing more of these from customers. They’re not accurate enough to check against, so we can’t conduct a review from a plan like this.

Kitchen floor plan with wall and cabinet-run dimensions, appliance locations, and a pot-filler note

Some overall measurements, but not the cabinet-by-cabinet dimensions a review checks against. On its own it isn’t enough to review from.

✓ Acceptable

A kitchen floor plan with overall room dimensions and individual cabinet-run widths labeled throughout, appliance locations for a cooktop and sink called out, but no cabinet model codes, door style, or finish

Wall lengths, every cabinet width, and appliance sizes called out. This is the least we need to check clearances, aisles, and fit.

Kitchen cabinet plan with individual cabinet model codes, door style, ceiling height, and a wall cutback called out

A plan like this, with cabinet models, door style, and finish called out, lets us confirm the details a bare dimension string can’t: panel and finish treatment, appliance fit against the exact model, trim at the ceiling.

Not sure which you have? Ask your designer for “the plan view with dimensions.”

A 3D picture of the finished kitchen is not enough on its own: it shows what the kitchen will look like, not what anything measures. Send it if you have one, alongside the plan view.

We review your plan, not your room.

Our feedback is based on the drawings and information you provide. Your retailer or installer should still confirm measurements in your home before you order.
