The first thorough examination of the renowned French furniture designer Maria Pergay's output, whose creations have drawn clients and collectors from all over the world for decades, is found in Maria Pergay: Complete Works 1957–2010. The use of stainless steel, which Pergay first experimented with in 1968 with the now-iconic Flying Carpet Daybed and the Ring Chair, has earned her the most notoriety. Since 1957, Pergay has collaborated with a wide range of clients, including Pierre Cardin and the Saudi Royal family, creating lavish interiors for the Al Hada palace in Riyahd and the couturier's lavish Turtle Sofa.

The designer earned significant commissions from Russia in the late 1980s and early 1990s and carried on with her avant-garde work in stainless steel, strikingly fusing it with materials like mother of pearl, lacquer, and rare woods. Pergay, who is now 80, has had numerous worldwide exhibitions since her important New York exhibition in 2006 and has continued to produce works for important collectors. Maria Pergay: Complete Works 1957-2010, compiled with the designer's assistance, spans more than 50 years of production. It offers thorough factual explanations of more than 300 of Pergay's designs along with modern and historical images, many of which have never before been replicated, making it the sole definitive reference catalogue on the designer's work.
